The Phantom Menace
The Trade Federation blockades Naboo, prompting Chancellor Valorum to send Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, to negotiate. Darth Sidious, secretly aiding the Federation, orders the Jedi killed, forcing their escape to Naboo, where they rescue Jar Jar Binks and Queen Amidala. After an emergency landing on Tatooine, they meet Anakin Skywalker, a gifted slave boy. Qui-Gon frees Anakin, convinced he’s the Chosen One, and they return to Coruscant. Amid Senate corruption, Amidala defends Naboo with Gungan support, Anakin destroys the Federation’s control ship, and Obi-Wan defeats Darth Maul. Palpatine becomes Chancellor, and Naboo celebrates peace.
